Highland News reporter Hugh Ross gives one of the first reports from the service point closure debate, which saw the council administration force through the closure of 23 service points across the Highlands.

When I raised a concern that staff employed by Highlife Highland were facing redundancy and a substantial pay cut, I was accused of scaremongering. Turns out that I was right; in a hastily issued correction last night, from the Highland Council, it was confirmed some staff would see their posts downgraded.
