Major overnight closures are planned in the Duror area for two weeks in July, to carry out resurfacing works to the A828 trunk road. BEAR Scotland has informed both the community council and Highland councillors of the planned works, asking for any comments before the closure is agreed. If given the go ahead, the main road will be completely closed on a section from Duror School to beyond the cemetery, between 10pm and 6am, Sunday night to Friday morning, for a two week period commencing on Sunday 6th July. This results in a lengthy 85 mile detour via Tyndrum, unless you are prepared to wait to be accompanied through the works at roughly one-hourly intervals, although this is dependent on the work be undertaken at a particular time. As usual, emergency services will be able to get through if needed. During the daytime there will be no traffic management, but a reduced speed limit of 30mph until the resurfacing is complete.
